Food Service Manager:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager of Food Services to lead front-of-house dining operations, including the cafeteria, third-party vending services, and other retail programs. This role is responsible for developing and executing strategies that enhance the customer experience, improve service quality, and drive revenue growth across all retail food service areas. The Manager oversees daily operations, ensuring efficient workflows, high standards of food quality, and excellent customer service, while analyzing production and demand to minimize waste and menu performance.
The position provides direct leadership to supervisors, leads, cashiers, and frontline staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. The Manager fosters a positive and accountable work environment while maintaining strong relationships with customers and internal departments to deliver a seamless dining experience. This role also ensures compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards, oversees vendor partnerships such as food trucks and catering services, manages menu board retail software and cash registers, and supports the coordination of special events and hospital initiatives.
In addition, the Manager of Food Services is responsible for financial oversight, including budgeting, food cost analysis, pricing strategies, payroll, and month-end reporting. The role monitors sales performance, conducts audits, and ensures accurate billing for retail and vendor services. Strong communication is essential, including maintaining menus, promotions, and updates through internal channels. Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree or Culinary Arts Certification
- 4 plus years of experience in food service management in healthcare or large retail operation (revenues of $1M + annually)
- Experience with cash retail operations.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or Foodservice Management from an accredited University. Education may be credited for experience.
- Retail marketing experience.
Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
- ServSafe Certified
Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
- Certified Dietary Manager
